I am a Derbyshire psychotherapist based in Matlock and Hathersage. I provide short- or long-term counselling and psychotherapy for women and men of all ages (16+). My approach integrates a range of effective therapeutic techniques and I tailor therapy to my client’s needs. Whether you are looking for help resolving one or more issues that are difficult for you right now in everyday life; you would like to explore ongoing issues in more depth; or you are simply stuck and don’t know how to move forward – I can help.
I can work with a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, grief, trauma, harmful childhood experiences and attachment issues, stress (e.g., work stress, burn out), low self-esteem, interpersonal and relational issues, or coping with major life events such as divorce, childbirth and new parenthood. I have expertise in helping bring about change in issues relating to aspects of physical health, which impact upon your emotional well-being. For example, I can help you break bad habits (e.g., overeating), address addictive behaviours and manage chronic illnesses such as pain, diabetes or cancer.
My approach is effective in bringing about changes on many different levels and reflects the complexity of people’s lives, paying special attention to the intricate ways in which elements of our social, psychological and physical systems interact. My practice promotes self-compassion, self-care and self-acceptance. Altogether, your time in therapy will help you understand your difficulties and teach you practical strategies to overcome them, so that you can bring about changes in your life and improve your emotional and psychological well-being.
